Terms of service

These are the terms you agree to when you buy a sauna from us: what we owe you, what you owe us, how a built-to-order cabin differs from something off a shelf, and what to do if something goes wrong. Please read section 19 on health and safety even if you read nothing else.

Read health and safety first

Last updated October 10, 2026 Effective October 10, 2026 Florida limited liability company
A note on this document. This is a carefully written starting template, not the output of a law firm. Before launch, Sauna Custom, LLC should have it reviewed by Florida counsel so that the warranty, limitation of liability, dispute resolution and installation provisions match the company's actual insurance, contractor licensing and operating practice. Nothing here is legal advice to you either.

Section 1 Acceptance of these terms

By browsing saunacustom.com, creating a cart, submitting the contact form, subscribing to our email list or placing an order, you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated here by reference. If you do not agree, please do not use the site or order from us.

If you are ordering on behalf of a company, a homeowners association, a gym, a hotel or any other entity, you confirm that you have authority to bind that entity, and "you" means both you and that entity.

Section 2 Who we are

Sauna Custom, LLC is a Florida limited liability company with its principal place of business in Sarasota, Florida. We design and manufacture traditional electric saunas — standard models and saunas built to your dimensions — and we deliver and install them. In these terms, "we", "us", "our" and "Sauna Custom" mean Sauna Custom, LLC.

Contact: support@saunacustom.com or (941) 400-9141.

Section 3 Who may order

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract. We sell and ship within the continental United States. We may decline or cancel any order, including where we cannot verify the payment or the delivery address, where the destination is outside our service area, where quantities suggest resale, or where an obvious pricing error occurred.

Section 4 Product information, pricing and errors

Wood is a natural material. Grain, colour and knot pattern vary from board to board and from cabin to cabin, and cedar in particular mellows from pink-amber toward honey-brown as it ages. Photographs on this site are representative; your sauna will not be an identical twin of the one in the picture, and that is a feature of a real wood product rather than a defect. Dimensions are nominal and subject to normal manufacturing tolerance. Heater ratings, capacities and warmup times are given in good faith under typical conditions.

All prices are in United States dollars and exclude sales tax, shipping and installation unless stated otherwise. Prices, promotions and specifications may change at any time before an order is accepted. Where we show a reduced price, the comparison price is the price at which we most recently offered that item.

Typographical errors. Despite our best efforts, an item may occasionally be listed at an incorrect price or with incorrect information. If an item's correct price is higher than the listed price, we will, before shipping, either contact you for instructions or cancel the order and notify you. We are not obliged to sell at an incorrect price even after an order confirmation has been sent. Any amount you have paid for a cancelled order is refunded in full.

Section 5 Orders and acceptance

Placing an order is an offer to buy. The confirmation email you receive after checkout is an acknowledgement that we received your order — it is not our acceptance. A contract is formed only when we send you a production or shipping confirmation, or when we begin building your unit, whichever happens first.

Payment is processed by Stripe. We never receive or store your card number. By placing an order you confirm that the payment method is yours or that you are authorised to use it, and that the billing information you gave is accurate.

The price, discount, shipping, installation and tax shown on the checkout page are calculated by us at the moment of checkout from your cart and your destination, and that calculation governs. A price displayed elsewhere on the site, in a cached page or in a screenshot does not.

Section 6 Promotional codes and the welcome offer

  • One promotional code per order. Codes cannot be combined with each other.
  • The welcome offer issued for joining our email list is one code per customer and per household, single-use, non-transferable and valid only for the period stated in the email that delivered it.
  • Codes apply to the merchandise subtotal only. They do not apply to sales tax, freight or installation labour, and they have no cash value.
  • A code must be entered at checkout. We cannot apply a discount retroactively to a completed order.
  • If an order that used a code is cancelled or returned, the refund is of the amount actually paid, and we may decline to reissue a single-use code.
  • We may void a code obtained through automated means, duplicate sign-ups or misuse, and cancel the order it was used on.

Section 7 Sales tax

Florida sales and use tax is charged on taxable orders at the rate in effect when the order is placed, currently applied at 7% plus any applicable county discretionary surtax. Installation labour performed in Florida is generally taxable as part of the sale of tangible personal property. We charge tax in other states where we have an obligation to collect it; where we do not collect, a use tax may still be owed by you to your own state.

If you hold a valid Florida resale or exemption certificate, send it to support@saunacustom.com before you order. We cannot refund tax already remitted on a completed sale.

Section 8 Custom and built-to-order products

Almost everything we sell is made to order. When you place an order we buy the specific material for your cabin, schedule bench time, and begin cutting. That is what lets us build a sauna to the size, wood, heater and bench configuration you chose, and it is also why a custom order cannot be treated like a boxed product returned to a warehouse shelf.

The practical consequence: a custom or built-to-order unit may be cancelled without charge only within 48 hours of order confirmation, or before we begin cutting material, whichever comes first. After that, cancellation is subject to the charges in section 22. Once a unit is completed to your specification it is not returnable except for a defect covered by the warranty.

We will confirm the specification with you in writing before production starts. Please read that confirmation carefully — dimensions, door swing, bench layout, wood species and heater rating are all built in, and changing them later means rebuilding.

Size quotes. A quote we email you from our quote page prices a sauna at the length and depth you entered and our standard 7-foot ceiling. It is a figure to plan around, not an order and not our acceptance of one. A custom build you order on this site is priced by the same rule, from the floor area of the length and depth you choose at our standard 7-foot ceiling, at the price its page shows for that size when you order. The specification and price we confirm in writing before production are the ones that bind us both.

Section 9 Deposits, lead times and delays

Standard orders are paid in full at checkout. For large, heavily customised or commercial orders we may agree a deposit schedule in writing; a deposit is applied to the purchase price and becomes non-refundable once material is cut, as described in section 22.

Lead times quoted on the site or by our team are good-faith estimates measured in business days from the date the specification is confirmed, not from the date of payment. The typical lead time to delivery is 7 to 10 business days. Time is not of the essence in this contract.

If production or delivery is delayed we will tell you as soon as we know and give you a revised date. A delay does not entitle you to cancel a built-to-order unit or to compensation, unless the delay exceeds 60 days beyond the last estimate we gave you and is not caused by you or by an event in section 25, in which case you may cancel and receive a full refund of amounts paid.

Section 10 Delivery

Saunas are large and heavy. Every sauna order is delivered by our own crew and installed under section 12; the delivery charge is quoted at checkout from your destination and the items in your cart. Upgrades and accessories ordered on their own are shipped to the address you give us.

  • We will call ahead to schedule a delivery window. Someone 18 or older must be present to receive and sign for the delivery.
  • Our crew moves the sauna from the truck to its final position along the access route you prepare under section 11.
  • A missed delivery appointment, a refused delivery, or a redelivery or storage cost incurred because nobody was there is billed to you at cost.
  • If the truck cannot physically reach the address — a private road with a weight limit, an overhanging tree, a turn a delivery truck cannot make — tell us before you order so we can plan the delivery around it.

Section 11 Site preparation and access

You are responsible for the site. Before the delivery or installation date you must provide, at your own cost:

  • A level, solid, load-bearing and well-draining foundation — a concrete slab, pavers or a properly built deck rated for the filled weight of the unit and its occupants. A sauna set on soft or uneven ground will rack, and doors will stop closing squarely.
  • Adequate clearance around and above the unit for assembly and for the ventilation and clearances specified by the heater manufacturer.
  • A clear, safe access route from the unloading point to the final position, wide enough for the largest assembled section, with gates unlocked and obstructions removed.
  • Any required permission: an HOA or condominium approval, a landlord's consent, a building permit, or a homeowner's authorisation if you are not the owner.
  • Accurate information about what is under and behind the work area — irrigation lines, septic fields, buried utilities, pool plumbing.
  • For indoor installations, an appropriate floor surface, a working drain where applicable, and ventilation adequate for a heated, humid room.

If our crew arrives and the site is not ready, is not safe, or is not accessible, we will not install. A return visit is charged at our then-current trip rate, and any resulting delay is not our responsibility.

Section 12 Installation services

Installation is included with every sauna order. You choose the level of installation service when you order, and it appears as its own line item at checkout. Depending on the level you choose, it covers assembly of the cabin on your prepared foundation, fitting the door and benches, setting the heater and guard, and a functional check and walkthrough with you.

Installation does not include, unless separately agreed in writing:

  • Foundation, slab, deck or pad construction.
  • Electrical work of any kind, including running a circuit, fitting a disconnect, connecting the heater to the electrical supply or making the final connection. We do not perform electrical work under any agreement; see section 13.
  • Plumbing, drainage or water supply.
  • Permit applications, inspections or engineering drawings.
  • Landscaping, fencing, screening, tree work or repair of lawn, pavers or driveway surfaces affected by normal access.
  • Removal or disposal of an existing structure or appliance.

Our own crew delivers and installs your sauna, and we remain your point of contact throughout. Please treat our crew courteously and keep children and pets clear of the work area; we may stop work if the site becomes unsafe.

Section 13 Permits and electrical work

Permits, inspections and all electrical work are your responsibility. Our electric sauna heaters are 9 kW and run on 220 V. Each requires a dedicated circuit on a 50-amp breaker, correctly sized conductors, a GFCI where the code requires it, and a disconnect within sight of the heater. This work, including connecting the heater to the electrical supply, must be designed and performed by a licensed electrician whom you hire, in accordance with the National Electrical Code, the Florida Building Code and your local authority having jurisdiction, and inspected where required.

We will give you the heater manufacturer's electrical specification so your electrician can quote from it. We do not perform electrical work, we do not run circuits or connect the heater to your electrical supply, we do not pull electrical permits, and we are not responsible for the cost, the schedule, the inspection outcome or the consequences of work performed by your electrician or contractor. Operating a heater on an undersized, unpermitted or improperly wired circuit is dangerous, voids the heater manufacturer's warranty and voids ours.

Section 14 Risk of loss

Title and risk of loss pass to you on delivery to the address you gave us — for a sauna, when our crew unloads it at your site; for an upgrade or accessory shipped on its own, when the carrier delivers it. Until then the goods are at our risk.

Section 15 Inspection and damage claims

Transit damage is uncommon but it happens, and carriers who ship accessories apply strict claim deadlines. To keep your protection intact:

  • Inspect the crate before you sign. Walk around it. Look for crushed corners, punctures, water staining and a shifted or re-wrapped load.
  • Note any damage on the delivery receipt before signing, in writing, however minor. A clean signature makes a concealed-damage claim very difficult.
  • Photograph everything — the crate on the truck, the damage, the packaging and the contents.
  • Tell us within 5 business days of delivery, at support@saunacustom.com, with your order number and the photographs. Concealed damage must be reported within the same window.
  • Keep all packaging until the claim is resolved. We need it as evidence, and carriers routinely require it.

Shortages, wrong items and manufacturing defects visible on unpacking should also be reported within 5 business days. We will repair, replace or re-ship the affected part at our option and at our cost.

Section 16 Limited warranty

We warrant to the original purchaser that the cabin structure we manufacture — the wall, roof and floor assemblies, the benches, the door frame and our joinery and workmanship — will be free from defects in material and workmanship under normal use for one (1) year from the date of delivery. The same one-year term applies to every installation, residential and commercial.

Extended warranty. You may extend this warranty one year at a time, at $875 per year, for up to five (5) years. Each year you buy runs on from the end of the coverage before it, on the same terms as this section.

Heaters, control units, stones and other components made by third parties carry their manufacturer's warranty, which we pass through to you in full and will help you claim against. Their terms govern those parts.

Your remedy under this warranty is, at our option, repair of the defect, supply of a replacement part, or replacement of the affected assembly. We pay for parts and labour performed by us or our authorised crew. Where travel to a remote site is required we may ask you to meet reasonable travel costs. The warranty is not transferable and applies only to the original purchaser at the original installation address. To claim, email support@saunacustom.com with your order number, a description and photographs.

Normal characteristics of wood are not defects: colour change and mellowing with age and heat, minor surface checking and hairline cracks, seasonal movement, grain and knot variation, resin bleed from knots, and the settling of joints through the first few heat cycles.

Section 17 What voids the warranty

  • Installation on an inadequate, unlevel or unstable foundation, or relocation of the unit after installation.
  • Electrical work not performed by a licensed electrician, or operation on a circuit that does not meet the heater manufacturer's specification.
  • Use of a heater, control, stone or component we did not supply or approve.
  • Modification, drilling, painting, staining, sealing or varnishing of interior surfaces. Interior cedar must be left bare — sealed interior wood outgasses and burns skin.
  • Operating temperatures above the heater manufacturer's maximum, or running the heater without stones or with the guard removed.
  • Water damage from pressure washing, hosing out the interior, flooding, or standing water under an outdoor unit.
  • Neglect, abuse, accident, vandalism, fire, pests, mould caused by inadequate ventilation, or failure to perform the routine care described in the owner's manual.
  • Damage from wind, hurricane, flood, hail, lightning, earthquake or other acts of nature — these are matters for your property insurance.
  • Commercial, rental or multi-family use of a unit sold for residential use.

Section 18 Disclaimer of other warranties

EXCEPT FOR THE LIMITED WARRANTY IN SECTION 16 AND ANY THIRD-PARTY MANUFACTURER WARRANTY PASSED THROUGH TO YOU, THE PRODUCTS AND SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE". TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY FLORIDA LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We make no warranty that this website will be uninterrupted or error-free, and no statement by any employee, agent or dealer creates a warranty beyond what is written here. Some states do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties, so part of this section may not apply to you; where an implied warranty cannot be excluded, it is limited in duration to the warranty period in section 16.

We make no health claims. Nothing on this site or in our materials is medical advice, and no sauna or cold plunge is offered as a treatment, cure or preventive for any disease or condition.

Section 19 Health and safety — read this

Heat and cold immersion carry real risk. Talk to your physician before using a sauna or cold plunge, especially if you are pregnant or may be, or if you have any heart condition, high or low blood pressure, circulatory problems, diabetes, epilepsy, a history of fainting, or you take medication of any kind.

By buying and using our products you acknowledge and agree to the following.

  • Heat stress is the primary danger. Excessive time at temperature can cause dizziness, nausea, dehydration, heat exhaustion, heat stroke, unconsciousness and death. Begin with short sessions of 5 to 10 minutes. Leave immediately if you feel light-headed, nauseous, unusually short of breath or simply unwell. Never ignore those signals in order to finish a session.
  • Hydrate. Drink water before, during and after. Do not use a sauna while dehydrated, fasting, or immediately after heavy exertion.
  • Never use a sauna or cold plunge while under the influence of alcohol, cannabis, sedatives, stimulants or any drug that affects blood pressure, heart rate, thermoregulation or judgement. Alcohol and heat together are the single most common factor in serious sauna accidents.
  • Pregnancy. Elevated core temperature carries risk in pregnancy, particularly in the first trimester. Do not use a sauna or cold plunge while pregnant or trying to conceive without your obstetrician's clearance.
  • Cardiovascular conditions. Heat and cold both place load on the heart and change blood pressure sharply. If you have heart disease, arrhythmia, a pacemaker or defibrillator, a history of stroke, or uncontrolled blood pressure, do not use these products without your cardiologist's clearance.
  • Cold immersion specifically can trigger cold shock response, involuntary gasp, hyperventilation, arrhythmia and after-drop. Enter slowly, control your breathing, keep sessions short, and never immerse alone.
  • Children must never use a sauna or cold plunge unsupervised. Children regulate temperature less effectively than adults. Keep the door secured and the unit powered down when not in use, and never leave a child alone near a cold plunge — an open water vessel is a drowning hazard.
  • Do not use alone if you have any health condition, and never sleep in a sauna. Falling asleep at temperature can be fatal.
  • Surfaces are hot. The heater, its guard, the stones and nearby metal reach temperatures that cause immediate burns. Keep clear of them, keep towels, clothing, paper and combustibles away, and never pour anything but water and approved sauna essence on the stones. Never operate the heater without stones in place or with the guard removed. Do not dry laundry or store anything in the cabin.
  • Follow the manuals. Read and keep the heater manufacturer's instruction manual and our owner's manual, and follow the maximum temperature, maximum session length, ventilation and clearance requirements in them.
  • Assumption of risk. You voluntarily assume all risk of injury, illness or death arising from the use of a sauna or cold plunge by you, your family, your guests or anyone you permit to use it, and you agree to warn every user of these risks and to supervise use of the equipment on your property.

If someone becomes unwell in a sauna, get them out, cool them gradually, give water if they are fully conscious, and call 911 for anything more than mild discomfort.

Section 20 Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY FLORIDA LAW, SAUNA CUSTOM, LLC AND ITS MEMBERS, MANAGERS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS AND SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, LOSS OF USE, LOSS OF DATA, PROPERTY DAMAGE OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE PRODUCTS, THE SERVICES OR THIS WEBSITE, WHETHER IN CONTRACT, TORT, STRICT LIABILITY OR OTHERWISE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY.

OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO AN ORDER WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU ACTUALLY PAID US FOR THE PRODUCT OR SERVICE GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our own negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation. Some states do not allow the exclusion of incidental or consequential damages, so this section may not apply to you in full.

Section 21 Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless Sauna Custom, LLC and its members, managers, employees and contractors from any claim, demand, loss, liability, damage, cost or expense (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of: your breach of these terms; your misuse of a product; use of a product by anyone you permit to use it, including guests, tenants and children; your failure to supervise or to warn users of the risks in section 19; work performed by your own contractors or electrician; inaccurate site information you gave us; or your violation of any law or of the rights of a third party.

Section 22 Returns and cancellations

Built-to-order saunas.

  • Within 48 hours of order confirmation, and before material is cut: cancel for a full refund.
  • After that, before production is complete: cancellation is subject to a charge covering material already bought and labour already performed, up to a maximum of 35% of the merchandise price. We will always tell you the actual figure before you decide.
  • After production is complete, or after shipment: the order is not cancellable and the unit is not returnable, except for a defect covered by section 16 or transit damage reported under section 15.

Stock accessories and upgrades (buckets and ladles, headrests, cleaning products, spare stones and similar) may be returned within 30 days of delivery if unused, uninstalled and in original packaging. You pay return shipping; we refund the purchase price less any outbound shipping we actually paid. Email us first for a return authorisation — unauthorised returns cannot be tracked to your order.

Not returnable in any circumstance: custom-sized or custom-configured cabinetry, installed heaters and controls, opened essences and oils, and any item damaged by use.

Approved refunds are issued through Stripe to the original payment method within 5 to 10 business days of us receiving and inspecting the return. Installation charges are refundable only if the installation has not yet been performed or scheduled with a crew.

Section 23 Reviews and content you submit

Only verified purchasers can review a product: the review form is reachable only through a single-use link we email to the buyer after delivery. That is deliberate, and it is why every rating on this site comes from someone who actually owns the thing.

You keep ownership of what you write. By submitting a review, photograph or other content you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual and sub-licensable licence to use, reproduce, adapt, publish and display it in connection with our products and marketing, together with the display name you provided. You confirm the content is your own, accurate, and does not infringe anyone's rights.

We moderate reviews before publication. We will remove content that is unlawful, defamatory, obscene, harassing, off-topic, fraudulent or that discloses someone's personal information — but we do not remove a review simply because it is critical, and we do not pay for, incentivise or fabricate reviews. We may publish a response alongside a review. Ask us at support@saunacustom.com if you want your own review taken down.

Section 24 Intellectual property

The Sauna Custom name and logo, this website, its design, photography, illustrations, copy, product designs and drawings are owned by Sauna Custom, LLC or used under licence, and are protected by United States copyright and trademark law. You may browse, share links and print pages for your own personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, reproduce, scrape, republish, or use our text, photographs or product designs to build, market or sell a competing product, and you may not use our name or logo without our written permission.

Section 25 Force majeure

We are not liable for any delay or failure to perform caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including hurricanes, tropical storms, flooding and other severe weather; fire; earthquake; war or civil unrest; epidemic or pandemic and related government orders; labour disputes; carrier or port disruption; lumber, heater or component shortages; utility or telecommunications failure; or acts of government. Hurricane season is a fact of life for a Florida manufacturer, and we will keep you informed and resume as soon as it is safe to do so.

Section 26 Governing law and venue

These terms and any dispute arising out of them or out of any order are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and excluding the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods.

You and Sauna Custom, LLC agree that the exclusive venue for any action is the state or federal courts located in the county of our principal place of business in Florida (currently Sarasota County), and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts and waive any objection based on inconvenient forum.

Section 27 Dispute resolution

Talk to us first. Almost everything is fixable by a phone call, and we would rather send a crew than a lawyer. Before starting any formal proceeding, email support@saunacustom.com with a description of the problem and what you would like us to do, and give us 30 days to resolve it. Most disputes end here.

If we cannot resolve it informally, the parties will first attempt mediation in Sarasota County, Florida with a mutually agreed mediator, sharing the mediator's fee equally. Either party may thereafter bring an action in the courts identified in section 26. Either party may bring a qualifying claim in small claims court instead.

Each party bears its own costs unless a court awards otherwise. Any claim must be brought within one (1) year after it arises, or it is permanently barred, to the extent that limitation is enforceable under Florida law. Nothing here prevents either party seeking injunctive relief to protect intellectual property.

Section 28 Severability and waiver

If any provision of these terms is held invalid or unenforceable, that provision is modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, or severed if it cannot be, and the remaining provisions stay in full force. Our failure to enforce any right or provision is not a waiver of it, and a waiver on one occasion is not a waiver on any other.

Section 29 Entire agreement

These terms, our Privacy Policy, the order confirmation and any written specification we confirm with you are the entire agreement between you and Sauna Custom, LLC, and they supersede any prior discussion, quote, email or advertisement. You may not assign your rights under an order without our written consent; we may assign ours in connection with a sale of the business.

Section 30 Changes to these terms

We may revise these terms at any time by posting an updated version here and changing the "last updated" date. Changes apply to orders placed after they are posted; the terms in force when you placed your order continue to govern that order. If you keep using the site after a change, you accept the revised terms.
