Glass-Wall Black Sauna with End Shower

The details

A black cabin with its own shower

This build puts the sauna room and an open, roofed shower bay under one single-slope roof of grey corrugated metal. The cabin is clad in rough black vertical boards. One long wall is almost all glass, framed in pale natural wood. The roof runs out past the walls, and round downlights are set into the black soffit.

At one end, black posts frame the shower bay. It has a black rainfall head and wall mixer on the black back wall, a natural-wood ceiling and a grey slatted deck. A full-height glass door with a round wooden dowel handle opens from the shower straight into the sauna.

Inside the room

The walls and ceiling are knotty, pale amber tongue-and-groove boards, and the floor is planked in the same wood. An upper bench runs the length of the wall opposite the glass, with a lower bench in front of it. An electric heater with a stone basket sits in a wooden frame on the end wall, in the corner beside the big window.
