Wood-Fired Black Trailer Sauna
The details
A sauna on its own axles
This build sits inside a gloss-black enclosed cargo trailer: tandem axles, black wheels, diamond-plate trim on the front and fenders, and a stainless chimney rising through the roof. A side door opens straight into the hot room. At the back, a fold-down ramp door opens onto a second compartment lined floor to ceiling in strongly grained boards, with a wide window and a ceiling light.
Inside the hot room
Pale knotty tongue-and-groove boards line the walls and ceiling, laid horizontally over a slatted floor. Two bench tiers wrap the end and side walls in an L, under a wide picture window with a view of the trees. Just inside the door, a wood-burning stove with a glass firebox door stands in a stainless rod guard on a black floor plate, with a perforated black sleeve around the flue. An oval light sits low on the wall beneath the upper bench, and a small window is set high above the benches.
